One of the greatest things about doing business online, and creating an internet based business for yourself is the ability to leverage technology to free up your time.

When you are able to free up your time, you’re then a master of your time with the ability to choose how you spend it, rather than being a slave to the system.

But I still see way too many internet business owners and online entrepreneurs who get caught in the trap of allowing even their online business to consume their time and they become a slave to their online business.

Leverage The Lifestyle!

Online Business should always be about leverage…

1. Leverage Technology

The Internet allows you to leverage technology to create cash on autopilot. No its not just a phrase you see in the headlines of sales pitches, there is a real world where people, myself included have leveraged the internet, websites and blogs to create autopilot cashflow systems.

This might begin with automated lead generation for an MLM business opportunity, home based business or any other product or service offer - but through the use of the web you can leverage technology so it works without you being there.

2. Leverage The World Wide Network

By this I mean outsource.  If you cant build websites but you need them to build your business, outsource.

Check out some of the outsourcing sites such as:

  • www.elance.com
  • www.odesk.com
  • www.guru.com

Here you will find professionals from copywriters and ghostwriters who can research and even write your products and blog posts for you, to programmers, developers and designers who will be able to create a beautiful looking and highly functional website for you.

Its all right there are your fingertips, so dont get sucked into the vortex of becoming a slave to your online business.

3. Leverage The Wealth of Wisdom

If you want to learn something - google it!

If you want to know how the guru’s are doing it - tweet them, facebook them, or hit them up on linkedin.

Online networking has allowed me to build relationships with some of the world leaders in internet marketing and blogging.  People who I would have never had opportunities to ask questions and connect with, had I not sought them out on forums, twitter and facebook.

You’d be amazed at how willing to help and how ‘normal’ these so called guru’s are… now let me preface that with this, some of them do have a ‘rockstar syndrome’ and think they’re all that, but ‘most’ of them are very down to earth and approachable.

4. Leverage the Lifestyle‘

You put all of this hard work into building yourself an online business, enjoy the fruits of your labour!

Take time off to spend with your family and friends!

Dont sit at your computer 18 hours a day and neglect the ones you love.

It is not a valid excuse that you’re putting in the hard yards now ‘for them’ so ‘they’ can enjoy the fruits of your labour later on… if you ask them now… they’ll tell you that they just want time with you, and they’d rather have you than money, so dont be a jerk, turn your computer off and spend some quality time with your loved ones.

So as I mentioned at the beginning of the post - tomorrow i’m taking the day off and heading to the snow to do something I love, with some good friends of mine.

It will not only give me an opportunity to unwind but I will come back with a fresh mind and probably with some ideas, as you’d be amazed how when you clear space, whether its in your mind, in your wallet or in your life, you attract more… remember that ‘law of abundance’, give it away and it will come back to you!

Online business is all about leverage… so get out there and Leverage The Lifestyle!
