Hey welcome back! So glad you came back... let's make money!

The main focus of my blog as you would know is helping everyday people learn how to make money online, whether it’s by blogging for cash, from selling information products, through affiliate marketing solutions or by creating a membership site.

One of the biggest traps in the internet marketing industry is having your vision clouded by the promises and dreams of bringing home the mother load and working simply to make fast money online.

When the almighty dollar becomes the focus of your attention you lose focus on the thing which ultimately brings the dollars to you.  As I’ve mentioned before Zig Ziglar talks about the reality that you achieve your dreams when you help enough other people achieve theirs.

Whether that be through blogging, affiliate marketing, information marketing or membership sites - we are essentially identifying needs, or problems, and providing people with solutions in the form of information.  The more people you can provide solutions for, the more money you will make!

We must not get distracted simply by the dream of being able to make easy money online or we will be more interested in the transactions rather than providing each individual customer with valuable solutions.

So here are 3 important elements to remember when starting out:

1. Be Prepared To Put Your Name Behind Every Online Transaction

The internet provides a great smoke screen for anonymity and the perfect breeding ground for people who simply want to get rich quick and dont really care about who they take money from.

By adopting the principle that you will always put your name to any product, offer or transaction which you take online, you are putting your own personal reputation and personal brand on the line.  I’m not interested in working with people who are simply out to make a buck, but I am passionate about helping everyday people profit from their passion, and create a personal brand online.

It was once said that your reputation takes years to build, but can be ruined in an instant - if you are always prepared to put your name behind your online activities and not hide behind anonymity, then you will be forced to operate with real integrity in everything you do.

2. Always Ask Yourself - Would I Pay The Asking Price For This?

If you’re selling a product or a subscription based service I believe that you should never put it into the marketplace at a price which is even 1cent higher than the price you yourself would be willing to pay for it.  Now I understand this can be quite subjective, especially if you are releasing a product which you yourself are not necessarily passionate about, but someone who is passionate about it may be prepared to pay a higher price.  But generally speaking - price based on value, not on how much money you want to make, or how much money you need to make.

Often when I being a new project I will sit down with a spreadsheet and work out projected budgets and profit schedules, which is really exciting, but it can also be dangerous to focus on the profits and the transactions, rather than ensuring that the product is priced approriately.

A great way of determining the appropriate price for a particular offer is to do 2 things:

1. Ask other experts in the field.
2. Do some market research.

3. Under Promise and Over Deliver

This has always been a principle I have tried my best to live by, although to be honest I do fall short sometimes.

In creating a personal brand it’s always better to be known for providing more than you promised, as opposed to being a rip off merchant.

Our world today is one void of trust, and when your actions are contrary to popular belief and popular actions you create a lasting memory.  By over delivering to your customers you will create not only profit from that one sale, but you will have a trusted customer and evangelist for life.

By over delivering you’re building credit into your brand through good will and you will profit from customer referrals as well as good PR.

Just remember, dont get distracted by the profits or the dollar signs…

Provide amazing value, solve your target markets problems and you will be handsomely rewarded for it!
